Slow Cooker Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Wings there are so tender that the meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth.
The spicy chili pepper paste along with the honey and brown sugar come together to make the great sweet & spicy coating. Following the wings are slow cooked, then I broil them in the oven before the glaze is caramelized and sticky. These wings may be prepped beforehand and then heated in the toaster for functioning. There is no skillet, no mess.
Tips to make Slow Cooker Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Wings:
- I use the stir in chili-pepper paste in the tube.
- You may use frozen-wings, the cook tome is going to be 2-3 hours on top or 4-6 hours on low.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Wings
- 3 lbs fresh chicken-wing
- ¼ cup good-honey
- ½ cup packed light brown-sugar
- 2 tbsp soy-sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 3 tbsp chili-pepper paste, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp kosher-salt
- At a 5quart slow-cooker on low, add the honey, brown-sugar, ketchup, soy-sauce, chili-pepper, garlic and salt. Stir to blend.
- Add the chicken-wings. Stir until the wings are well-coated. Cover & cook for 1-2hours, till the wings are cooked through.
- Remove the wings in the slow-cooker & set onto a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Transfer the sauce out of the slow-cooker into a saucepan & bring to a boil on medium-high heat. Cook the sauce until it's thick enough to coat the back of a spoonto for 7-10minutes, stirring periodically. Then slather the skillet sauce on the wings.
- Broil for 2-3minutes, till the sauce begins to darken & caramelize. And do not leave your oven. Broiling can go from caramelized to burnt in a blink, just trust me on this one. Open the oven & brush the following layer of sauce on the wings and then broil again. Repeat till you've got 3 layers of sauce onto the wings. Then Remove from the oven.
- It is possible to use frozen wings; the cook time is going to be 2-3hours (4-6hours on low).
