Philly Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps, you won’t miss the hoagie in those low carb Philly Cheesesteak lettuce wraps. Yes, they are made out of provolone NOT Cheez Whiz.
You’ll Need Ingredients:
- vegetable oil
- onion
- bell peppers
- oregano
- kosher salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- skirt steak
- provolone
- butterhead lettuce
- freshly chopped parsley
How to make Philly Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps?
In a large-skillet over medium-heat, add 1 tbsp oil. Then add bell-peppers and onion, season with oregano, pepper and salt.
Cook, stirring frequently till veggies are tender for 5minutes.
Remove onions and peppers from skillet & heat remaining oil in skillet.
Add steak in one layer and season with pepper and salt.
Cook till the steak is seared on one side for a few minutes.
Flip and cook till steak is seared on the other side & cooked to your liking for 2minutes or longer for medium.
Add onion mix back to skillet and toss to blend.
Sprinkle provolone over steak & onions then cover skillet using a tight-fitting lid and cook till the cheese melted for a few minutes. Then remove from heat.
Arrange lettuce on a serving dish. Scoop steak mix onto every slice of lettuce. Garnish with parsley and serve-warm.
